Our point of view

Beautiful things are meant to be lived in.

And danced in. Worn on ordinary Tuesdays. Taken somewhere fabulous. Loved for years.

Karen’s edit moves easily between quiet elegance and joyful exuberance.

The compliment

“I love your dress. Where did you get it?”

“Thank you! It’s by a Canadian designer I discovered at Wilkes & Bowens.”

This is what discovery looks like: delight, confidence and something you cannot wait to wear—even on a Tuesday.

A note for Karen

This has been bubbling in my head.

Ever since I left Yorkville, I’ve been thinking about you and Wilkes & Bowens. We used to talk about business and marketing all the time. Business is hard. Doing all of it is hard. But this next chapter feels so clear to me that I had to get it out.

I see a brand that feels like walking into your store when you’re there: warm, stylish, curious, energetic and deeply personal.

A joyful gathering celebrating distinctive Canadian fashion
What I see

An ecosystem swirling with delight.

01 · DISCOVER

The Well-Lived List

Inspirational designs, designer stories, useful how-tos and wonderfully permission-giving “why nots?”—never another forgettable “what’s new” email.

02 · FEEL SEEN

Personal shopping, thoughtfully inspiring

A finishing piece, a complete look or a fresh way to wear a favourite blazer. Suggestions that feel considered, personal and unmistakably Karen.

03 · BELONG

Invitations that feel personal

Events, designer visits and thoughtful text messages that feel like hearing from someone who knows you—not an automation announcing itself.

04 · LIVE IT

A world people want to enter

Clients and friends see women being styled, shopping, laughing and expressing themselves—and begin imagining more colour, beauty and delight in their own lives.

The beautiful loop
They discover. They feel inspired. They visit. They find something extraordinary. Someone asks, “Where did you get that?” And the story begins again.

This is more than content. It is Karen’s eye, energy and generosity carried beyond the boutique—bringing customers, friends and Canadian designers into the same living, joyful world.

Sometimes, when you’re inside a business every single day—doing all the things it takes to keep it moving—it is hard to stand outside of it and see what other people see.

And this is what I see. ❤️

I hope you use this as inspiration—all of it, some of it, or simply as a reminder that you have created something bright and beautiful. I really hope you love it.

With admiration,
Urla

P.S. I promise to visit soon ;)
